Arts & the Wild
Animals, art and exploration are the focus of this trip and include a behind-the-scenes visit to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and a trip to the Wolf and Wildlife Center. Learn the basics of fly-fishing and spend a day with an artist who will help you channel the surrounding natural beauty.
Your journey will begin at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where we will visit with the animals and learn about their origins. You’ll then travel south to learn about the history and legacy of the wolf in North America and Colorado by visiting the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center . While there, you will learn about wolves in captivity, and contribute your efforts toward helping remain viable and safe for its semi-wild residents. Our next stop will be Salida, where you’ll spend a day on the water learning how to fly fish. This experience will be followed by an exclusive experience with a local artist who will help you find your inner creative self. Students must be ready to be active outside on a daily basis and be properly equipped for late winter in the Rockies. If you have a keen interest in animals, art, and exploration, this trip will strengthen your creative nature and your connection to the environment.
