Brittany Harrison joined the Fountain Valley School faculty in 2018 after 8 years of working in both secondary and higher education. Brittany is the Director of the Global Education Program at FVS, teaching Global Citizenship as well as mentoring students' research for their Senior Capstone Project. Brittany also contributes as a Spanish teacher in the World Language Department.
Brittany previously taught Spanish, linguistics, literature and music courses at Middleburg Academy outside of Washington, DC where she also served as the World Language Department Chair for 5 years. Beyond the classroom, Brittany has worked with young people as an international trip leader, translator, ESL teacher, advisor, cross country coach, swim coach, and a case manager for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Brittany is a self-proclaimed lover of the outdoors. If she cannot be found in her classroom she is most likely running, biking, or hiking the plethora of trails in the Colorado Rockies with her partner, Jennifer, and two dogs Arlo & Griffin. Brittany also loves to travel the world, having been to 15 countries on four continents. According to Brittany, the best way to get to know the world around you and to fuel up for adventures is through food, and she is most happy when cooking for or breaking bread with family and friends.
