2013 Winners

A record 33 entries were received from high school filmmakers this year for the 2013 Dominique Dunne High School Film Competition, sponsored by Fountain Valley School of Colorado in Colorado Springs. 

Dramatic Category

First Place: “The Nocturnal” by Kai Dickson of Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. ($300 prize)

Second Place: “The Craft” by Walker Evans of Ballard High School in Seattle, Wash. ($100 prize)

Honorable Mention: “Sway” by Mara Whitehead of Fountain Valley School, Colorado Springs, Colo.; “Jello: A Brief Hero” by Allen Garcia of East Hollywood High School in Salt Lake City, Utah; “Sundown” by Vann Fulfs of Ballard High School in Seattle, Wash.

Documentary Category

First Place: “Redemption of the Artisan” by Grant Shelpuk of the Denver School of the Arts, Denver, Colo. ($300 prize)

Second Place: “Deep Down” by Isaiah Hoban Halvorsen of Ballard High School in Seattle, Wash. ($100 prize)
