The Casa Serena Society

Leadership Giving at the Cornerstone of Annual Support

In 1929, Elizabeth Sage Hare, a woman of extraordinary vision and compassion, partnered with an impressive group of educators, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists to found the Fountain Valley School of Colorado. They shared the belief that a boarding school dedicated to traditional standards of excellence and progressive ideals of individual dignity and creative promise would thrive in the great American West.

The site chosen for the School was a large ranch, known as the Lazy B, belonging to Jack Bradley, and the School's first building was Bradley's spectacular 1927 home designed by Addison Mizner. The house, known as Casa Serena and commonly referred to as the Hacienda, was surrounded by pastures, stables, and small residences for ranch hands.

In honoring the history of Fountain Valley, and inspired by the School's 1930 founding, the Casa Serena Society was established to recognize those alumni, parents, and friends who make leadership-level gifts – donations of $1,930 or above – in support of the School’s academic mission through the Fountain Valley Fund. Your support advances the enduring legacy of the Casa Serena Society, Fountain Valley’s longest-running and most impactful giving society.
