FVS welcomed Jesse W. Fortney as the director of advancement in July 2017. In this role, he works closely with the Admission and Financial Aid Office, Development and Alumni Office, and Marketing and Communications Office. He has a B.Ed. in education from the University of Hawai`i and an M.A. in educational administration from Bowling Green State University. Moving back to Colorado and again being part of a living and learning community was important to Jesse and his family. He and his wife, Marsha, have two children—Bradyn '20 and Lainey '25—and they live on campus.
Working with great families from the United States and around the globe to realize the possibility of attending a great boarding school has long been a passion for Kila McCann P '15. For the eight years, Kila was director of boarding and international students and head of house at Darlington School in Rome, Ga. Prior to her employment at Darlington School, Kila worked at St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, Canada as a recruitment/enrollment officer and at Fulford Academy in Brockville, Ontario, Canada as a placement officer and student counselor.
Kila, her husband, Tim, feel privileged to live on campus, meeting wonderful families and helping to guide students down the path of boarding school. She values the many relationships she has established throughout the years and is looking forward to meeting many new people at FVS. Kila enjoys travel, spending time with friends and family, and outdoor activities such as hiking and fly fishing.
Senior Associate Director of Admission and Director of Financial Aid
After graduating from the University of Utah, Margie accepted a position with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association as their Snowboard Program Director. She subsequently served as the Team Leader for the 2002 Olympic Snowboard Team, as the Director of Figure Skating for the N.Y. Olympic Authority, Development Officer for the University of Utah, and most recently came to FVS from an independent school in Park City, UT where she was the Advancement Director overseeing both Development and Admissions.
Margie moved to Colorado and with her husband, Cris, her daughter Malia going into 7th grade, and incoming FVS freshman, Emmitt. She is overjoyed that she has found a community of like-minded professionals who all work in the best interest of the students. Margie is impressed by everyone’s work at FVS which is inspired by a shared vision and supported by a strong commitment. She is excited to be part of such an amazing community!
Matthew was welcomed to the FVS family in December 2017, as Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications with Jeanne Olive. Since graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2006 with a B.A. in Journalism/Advertising, Matt has held an array of positions allowing his marketing creativity to flourish -- ultimately moving to Colorado in 2014 with his wife Hollie and dog Gilley. Hollie has been the Theatre Arts Chair of FVS since 2014 bringing them both to this community.
