The History of OLD "82" Gymkhana at FVS

Gymkhana Rider

The Western Riding Program, the oldest athletic program at Fountain Valley, was created with the School's inception in 1930. Throughout the years, the Riding Program has offered various disciplines and opportunities to students under the tutelage of talented riding directors and coaches. In the spring of 1946, the program began hosting an annual Gymkhana Day at Fountain Valley School. The show took place on FVS's Old “82” field and this tradition continued until 1986. An incredible experience not just for riding students, the event was open to the public and well attended by competitors and spectators alike. To this day, FVS Alumni and participants reminisce about the event.
