Welcome to Fountain Valley

As an international boarding school, Fountain Valley School is enriched by students representing more than 20 countries and 23 states each year. On our 1,100-acre Prairie campus, international students find a welcoming home away from home where they gain the skills, confidence, and global perspective needed to excel in college and beyond.

The International Admission Process

STEP 1

Complete an
Inquiry Form

Please complete the Inquiry Form so we can learn more about you–and help you get to know us. We will share key details about FVS to guide you through every step of the process.

STEP 2

Plan a Visit

Plan a campus tour, observe classes, and gain a better understanding of campus life at FVS. Or, register to attend a regularly-scheduled Admission event virtually or in-person.

STEP 3

Interview

Schedule your interview with an FVS admission counselor. Meetings can be arranged either virtually or in-person.

STEP 4

Complete Testing

If English is not the applicant’s first language, an English language proficiency test is required. Applicants must submit either TOEFL or Duolingo scores.

Getting Oriented

International students begin their FVS experience with a two-day orientation designed to help them transition smoothly to life on campus. Students and parents meet faculty, advisors, and school leaders, learn about American culture and campus life, explore Colorado Springs, and become familiar with school technology and communication tools. Returning International Student Leaders help lead activities.

Faculty Support

International students receive personalized support throughout the year from English Language Learner (ELL) faculty, immigration support from the Office of Admission, and peer mentors who help guide their social and cultural transition. Every student is also assigned a faculty advisor and advisory group, creating a supportive community where students build friendships, connect across grade levels, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Student Cultural Organizations

Students connect through affinity groups such as the Black Student Union, Alianza Latino-Hispana, and Asian Alliance, as well as the Global Connections program, which fosters international understanding and cross-cultural dialogue. Throughout the year, students have opportunities to share their traditions with the FVS community, including annual celebrations such as Lunar New Year and Unity Day.
