FVS WELCOMES AWARD-WINNING INNOVATOR AND FUTURIST LANGDON MORRIS ’74 TO CAMPUS

On Monday, September 16, 2024, Fountain Valley School welcomed the globally recognized innovator, speaker, author, educator, and futurist Langdon Morris – an alumnus from the FVS Class of 1974 – to its 1,100-acre Prairie campus in Colorado Springs for a special day of engagement and learning with students, faculty, and staff.

Morris, a senior partner with InnovationLabs, is world-renowned for helping organizations navigate rapid change and market disruption. His impressive client list includes NASA, UNICEF, and the U.S. Navy. Read his complete bio here.

During his day-long visit to FVS, Morris met with the 10th-grade class for a workshop titled "Hello Future! The World in 2035" followed by a "Net Zero Talk" with FVS's Environmental Science classes. Later that afternoon, his All-School presentation explored the driving forces of change that can be expected over the next decade, including climate change, defossilization, overpopulation, and a future decline in population due to urbanization and demographic shifts. He compared the current era to the Industrial Revolution, emphasizing the need to examine patterns and systems in order to navigate the challenges that may lay ahead.

Founded in 1930, Fountain Valley School is committed to preparing the next generation of global leaders to think creatively and strategically about the future.
