Students Show Courage With Solo Performances at Music Competition

The fourth annual Charles Kurchinski Music Competition highlighted the talents of eight FVS singers and instrumentalists.
Several Fountain Valley School of Colorado solo performers took to the Lewis Perry Jr. Chapel stage April 28 for the fourth Charles Kurchinski Music Competition, embodying the School’s core value of courage.

The competition is sponsored through an endowment that gives cash prizes to the top three in the vocal and instrumental categories. The winners were announced at the Spring Vocal and Instrumental Concert April 30.

2nd Koyo Song ’16, tenor sax
3rd Izzy Nuñez ’17, violin

1st Taran Hunter ’16
2nd Sang Jae Lee ’16
3rd Maddy Cook ’17

Also participating were Joon Ha Cha ’17 (clarinet) and Kathryn Potts '19 (vocal).
