 | Summers at Fountain Valley School are filled with camps, conferences and other programs run both by outside organizations and FVS faculty. The 1,100-acre main campus, located at the base of Pikes Peak in southeast Colorado Springs, is the primary location for all camps, and some groups also utliize the 40-acre Mountain Campus near Buena Vista, Colo., for special retreats. Residential or day, all groups who use the FVS campus benefit from some of the most impressive residential, academic, athletic and recreational facilities in the nation. |

 | Game Design Camp June 7-11, 2010  Autodesk Maya is one of the tools of choice for major gaming companies like Electronic Arts, Blizzard and Epic. If you want to play with the best tools in the world or if you aspire to a career in the computer gaming industry, this course is a great place to start. You'll learn the basics of modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering and animation while creating a basic room or level for use in game technologies. You will also be introduced to basic animation principles including character animation using pre-built rigs. By week's end, your animation will perform in your room or level and your project will be produced to a DVD. $599

 | Robotics Explorer Camp June 14-18, 2010
 Intro to Robotics with the LEGO NXT provides new and experienced robotics students the opportunity to create robots that sense, process and act on their environments. Each student will receive an NXT robotics kit made by LEGO which they will keep, and build their own robots they can program to accomplish increasingly difficult tasks. Campers will learn to program using a graphical programming language and use touch, light and sound sensors to gather information from the robot’s environment. We will also have the opportunity to explore the world of remote operated vehicles to accomplish tasks underwater. We will mix up all this intensive robotics work with some physical activity breaks each day.

 The gcLi Leadership Lab is a week-long course of intensive study and discussion designed to empower secondary school teachers to create dynamic and diverse student leaders. Participant teachers examine current theories about adolescence and adolescent culture, become attuned to various learning styles, and empathize with the social pressures students face. In addition, through experiential events, simulations, and psychometric assessment tools, teachers discover and expand upon their own perspectives on leadership.  | Philanthropy Camp June 27-July 3, 2010  Run by Grab the Torch, the Philanthropy Camp is a five-day overnight camp experience. It has been developed to provide an in-depth educational experience into the business and commitment of the nonprofit, foundation, cause related marketing and global greater good professional. A vital component of our mission will be to present ‘how it’s done and why they’re doing it.’ The students will hear the life experience and journey of each speaker into the nonprofit world. The sessions will include presentations by foundation leaders, development professionals, college admission representatives, street volunteers, grant writers, corporate marketing professionals, nonprofit strategic planning professionals, and presidents of boards and foundations.  | Girls Youth Lacrosse Camp July 26-30, 2010  Fountain Valley School of Colorado is offering a weeklong, half-day camp for girls to learn important skills in the game of lacrosse - one of the fastest-growing sports in the west. Girls in 3rd-8th grade will work on stickwork, shooting, dodging, fast breaks, defense, offense and small-game play. Players will be separated into groups according to skill.

 | Lacrosse Goalie Camp July 26-30, 2010  The camp is designed for both boys and girls and will focus on basic and advanced techniques, positioning, agility and hand/eye coordination, as well as game preparation, and strength and conditioning particular to the position. Field direction and leadership as well as out-of-net play will be covered. A video analysis of each goalie will also be done. The camp is a weeklong session from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. daily.  | Nike Tennis Camp July 5-10; July 11-16; July 18-23; July 25-30
 The Nike Tennis Camp at Fountain Valley School offers the perfect balance of tennis training and fun off-court activities. Coach Dave Adams, recently retired after 18 years as the director of tennis at Colorado College, leads the qualified staff. He is currently coaching both the boys and girls varsity tennis teams at Cheyenne Mountain High School. Selected as the coach of the year by both the Colorado Springs Gazette and the Denver Post, Adams led both teams to the 4A state title in 2007. He has coached 70 individual state champions in singles and doubles. Overnight camps offer a 30-hour tennis program, all meals, housing and tennis activities (some off-campus activities may have an additional fee) for kids ages 9-18. Campers receive
