The club has the simple goal of developing interest and enthusiasm among students for any economic-related news, ideas and events. The club has generated a broad interest from all kinds of students as they compete against one another to see who can make the most of their virtual $100,000.
The students enjoy the competitive angle of this virtual stock exchange and have found themselves researching, discussing and reading anything related to economics and the stock market to get an edge on the other students. Although the students are narrowly concerned with the stock market, the club hopes to broaden its horizons by looking at other macroeconomic phenomenon in light of various current events taking place in the global economy. If anything else, the beginning of the virtual stock exchange has created interest among students and generated some good discussion about various investing ideologies, economic theories and current market events. |
