Planning For the Next Step College planning begins at Fountain Valley School during the sophomore year to help students find the best college fit for their talents. The College Counseling Office staff guides students through the application process—from standardized testing to essays and recommendations.
The office provides information on financial aid, merit scholarships, summer programs and NCAA eligibility. A college fair, with representatives from more than 100 college, is held every October on campus.
Since 2007, FVS students have been accepted to more than 300 colleges and universities in 43 states and numerous countries. Graduates from the class of 2011 received more than $1.25 million in merit-based scholarships with the help of the College Counseling Office.
In addition to the above scholarships, Kenyon Mitchell '11 is at Marquette University on a Gates Millennium Scholarship; and four students—Youngbo Sim, Sarah Vukelich, Samantha Olvera and Jose Garcia—are at Wesleyan University, Williams College, Rice University and Wesleyan University again, respectively, on QuestBridge Scholarships.
Fountain Valley School of Colorado belongs to the National Association for College Admission Counseling and follows NACAC's Statement of Principles of Good Practice (www.nacacnet.org).
